AMPLIFY Chandelier

{ Thursday, May 27, 2010 }

1 crystal + 1 low energy LED light + a faceted paper shade = AMPLIFY. These amazing lanterns come in 6 different shapes and are designed to be grouped together to create a dramatic effect.  In collaboration with Swarvoski, the industrial design/branding powerhouse  fuseproject debued them at the most recent Salone del Mobile.

Nina Saunders "Photoshopped Furniture"

Tracey Neuls Shoes

{ Wednesday, May 26, 2010 }

Her designs remind me of Camper shoes,  but the shapes of the toe box and heel are a bit more modern. Looking to find stores in the US that carry them.

Amazing installation first seen at Nummy Nims. Tracy Neuls is an innovative shoe designer based in the UK and Nina Saunders is an artist that is famous for creating liquified furniture sculptures with strange animal parts.  Both artists are based in the UK.

Peter Jensen Style

{ Wednesday, May 26, 2010 }

The "hand drawn" set for Peter Jensen's 2010 clothing line is a great way to highlight the clothing as it is minimal and simple,  but it also echos the quirky details and patterns the designer is famous for.

Unique Canvas, Quirky Graphics

{ Tuesday, May 25, 2010 }

I was browsing an older issue of Print Magazine this morning and found the work of a fellow RISD alum Janine Rewell.  I like the consistent aesthetic of her graphics, and the sun burn is pretty cool.

Jean Paul Gaultier's Casper Room

{ Monday, May 17, 2010 }

I am drawn to the corner of this room designed by Jean Paul Gautier for the Elle Decoration Suite. It reminds me of a friendly haunted house.  The kind that a ghost like Casper would likely live in.  I just wish the rest of the space was designed in the same vein. The rest of it just looks a bit disjointed.

Robert Longo

{ Monday, May 17, 2010 }

A friend introduced me to Robert Longo's work last night over desert.  I revisited the work this morning, and am really liking his water images.

I also really like this image of twin cowboy hats in process at his studio.
